These dogs are a mix between a Boston Terrier and a Beagle, and take on the playful and loyal characteristics of each breed. With all of their energy, they love being around big families and lots of people that can give them attention and play with them. Also known as Boglen Terriers, they are able to live in an apartment, as long as they get enough exercise, and do really well in a home with a backyard where they can run around. Just like both their parents, Boglen Terriers can be prone to wander, so they should not be left alone in an area where they can get away. These dogs are all around extremely friendly to everyone they meet, and tend to do well with other dogs too! They are relatively easy to care for, and easy to groom, so they can be the perfect pet for new dog owners as well. Boglen terriers do not like to be alone, and while they love the company of other people, they might also benefit from having another dog or cat in the house with them, so they’re not alone even when their owners are out. Unlike their Beagle parent, they are not as vocal, although they may bark as an alert when they hear the doorbell or see something out a window.
These silly dogs can be stubborn, but are very food driven which can help with training. They love to be physically and emotionally stimulated, so they do well with owners who appreciate playing and being active with them. Boglen Terriers can also do really well around children, and have a gentle side that makes them a perfect family dog.
These pups can vary in coat color, from brindle to black and white or brown, to a combination of these colors. Typically these dogs have short coats, but despite being easy to groom, are not considered allergy friendly. Mixing these two breeds helps alleviate health defects of the Boston Terrier, and creates a playful pup that takes on the friendliness of both breeds. Size can vary depending on the influence each pup gets from each parent, but they are usually 12-17 inches tall and weigh between 10 and 40 pounds. Being very food driven, Boglen Terriers can be prone to weight gain, and just like any other dog they should be well groomed and socialized from an early age. These goofy and playful dogs are perfect for an active family ready to give them lots of attention and love!
